How to use Change DB Prefix Plugin

Change DB Prefix Plugin

As you all know recently my one plugin approved by wordpress and now great news is one more plugin approved by WordPress. So today I am going to explain about my secondly approved plugin.

Plugin Name: Change DB Prefix

This Plugin is basically for changing the database default prefix(wp_) to another one.
few days ago, I have posted about “To Change Database PREFIX in WordPress” which is about to change database prefix manually after installation and which is somewhat difficult for non-technical person.

So here I have released one plugin “ Change DB Prefix” to change DB prefix by simply entering a new keyword for database prefix. As I said in this article, always change database prefix because it requires improving the security of the site.

Have a look:

Let’s have a look in below screenshot

The plugin provides an interface like in above image which display existing Prefix and you can enter new prefix value, you want to replace with existing one. and click on “update option” and your database prefix will be updated.

That’s it.

  1. It works, but if wp-config.php is on a -1 level relative to the WP installation the file will not be updated with the new prefix. Nevertheless the script claims that the update is successful.
So, you have to fix the prefix manually there.

  2. …[Trackback]…

[…]Wow, incredible weblog format! How lengthy have you ever been running a blog for?[…]…

  3. Plugin claims success with customized prefix, but I cannot find a single instance in my directory of my prefix being changed. Everything still says ‘wp_’. I double-checked that I could sign out & back in using wp_login. I’m glad others find it useful, but it somehow doesn’t work on my WordPress 3.5.1 installation.

  4. WP is now 4.4. Are there plans to update this plugin?

    1. Yeah, will update plugin soon.
